After a glorious week in the Highlands exploring most of the NC500 and many other places besides, the plan had been to return in September to visit some of the places we'd missed through lack of time. Obviously, September was a lifetime away when we were only half-way through July, so Lorraine thought it would be nice just to go up (to Aberdeen) for a weekend "because there's a castle trail" and "I really loved Stonehaven" and "I've e-mailed you some places we could go to" and "It's only for the weekend and we could be there in less than three hours" and…
…No man can withstand that level of pressure.
At 11am, 17 July, we were on our way back to the Bridge of Don. There was no itinerary, so the retrospective activity looks like it's, errr… hardly worth brewing up for, really!
